Meet the Creator, Claire Cashman
I have always been creative and have many fond memories of drawing pictures of nature, animals and underwater scenes with my dad and as I got older making and building woodwork with my granddad.
I love learning new skills and how to use different art and craft techniques. I don't think my desire to learn and experiment will ever change. I believe that this desire is what drives my creative process which then leads to the creation of something new and unique.
I studied Contemporary Textile Practice at UWIC in Cardiff, where I got to explore, learn and experiment with even more varied mediums. I then went onto complete a teacher training course to lead post sixteen students. A few years ago I went on my first 'Ring in a day' course at Alice Goldsack's Bristol studio. I was hooked! I have been progressing my practice both with her and in my home workshop ever since! I love jewellery – designing, making or wearing it, and my workshop is littered with sketches, objects, materials, shapes and textures that excite and inspire me. I enjoy creating a diverse collection of silver jewellery - creating wearable art that can be treasured everyday. To read more about Claire, check out her About page.
