At Critical Kit, we publish original, creator-owned tabletop role-playing games. We’re here to help your game find its audience, without taking away what makes it yours.

We’re looking for unique voices and compelling themes. Whether your game is solo, group-based, narrative, crunchy, weird, or minimalist — if it brings something fresh to the table, we want to see it.

Our publishing model is simple, transparent, and built to support indie creators.

Key Features of Our Publishing Model

1. Creator Ownership

You keep full rights to your game. We don’t take ownership of your world, mechanics, or setting. You retain the freedom to develop expansions, sell related merchandise, or adapt your game in any way you choose — with no obligation to us beyond our publishing agreement.

2. You Create, We Publish

Generally we like to see games that are as close to finished as possible -- preferably with artwork. However, on occassion we may agree to publish games based on a pitch. Regardless, we will always be there to offer advice on layouts and preperation for print. We also offer free proofreading and ISBN assignment.

3. Revenue Split

After covering direct costs (printing and payment processing fees), we split profits 50/50 with you. It’s a straightforward and fair agreement that ensures both sides benefit equally from the game’s success.

4. We Bring Your Game to The World

We market and sell your game through our own store, retailer network as well as our distribution partners in the UK, USA and Europe. We also take your games to major conventions in the UK, USA and Europe.

5. Always independent

Whether this is your first game or your fifth, we’re here to amplify independent voices. We work best with creators who have a clear direction and a strong sense of what their game is — and who want a publishing partner, not a gatekeeper.
