Simon J. Curd
Hello, I’m Simon and I draw the things that you’ve probably just seen.
Over the years they’ve evolved from tiny notebook doodles of cabins and mountains, into an ever-expanding world of curious creatures exploring overgrown, abandoned places. There’s a general theme of remembering things that are now outdated or taken for granted as the treasures they once were.
All of the linework is hand drawn in pen and ink, which is a slow but satisfying process, leaving plenty of room for dusky digital colour.
I sometimes draw and design for bands, books and businesses too – if you have an idea that you think I could help with, I’d love to hear about it.
I do all of this from my home in the outer suburbs of Nottingham, UK. When I’m not drawing, I like to get out into the woods nearby, read comics, or rewatch TV and films from that brief era where CGI and film grain overlapped.
I also regularly attend markets and conventions around the Midlands and the North, and am always happy to talk about any and all of the above if you spot me.
Thanks for stopping by!
